Wedding DJ at Shottle Hall

On Saturday 17th March 2018 our wedding DJ Jack headed back to Shottle Hall for the wedding of Grace and Richard, the newly married Mr and Mrs Langton.

Shottle Hall is an award-winning wedding venue in Derbyshire and we felt honoured to be here again this March. The venue is a family-run business and they take real pride in hosting great weddings. Their experienced team offer a bespoke service and hospitality like no other. Every wedding is individually tailored to the bride and groom’s requirements.

After being recommended to us by Shottle Hall Grace and Richard decided to go ahead and book our wedding DJ services for their big day. Having worked at Shottle Hall on many occasions it was great to be back at this unique venue with it’s night sky painted ceiling! I for one am always ‘wowed’ by this every time I go! Since booking back in December 2017 Grace and I have spoken on many occasions. We have discussed the all important first dance, looked at the timings for the evening and confirmed them all again in case anything had changed since the initial booking.

On the day we awoke to a sprinkle of snow! Not what we were expecting for a March wedding. With the snow a little hit and miss Jack decided to leave ahead of time just in case things were worse closer to the venue. Thankfully the roads were clear and he arrived ahead of time. Following the speeches Jack began to unload his equipment whilst the rest of the room was turned around for the evening reception. Shortly after 7.15pm Grace, Richard and their family and friends came back into the transformed reception room.

Richard and Grace cut their wedding cake, shortly followed by their first dance. On the night Grace also had a special dance with her father Rob, a moment I am sure they will both remember for a lifetime.

During the night our wedding DJ Jack kept the dance floor full by playing a mixture of guests from the bride, groom and their guests as well as a mixture of music he knew would work with the crowd for the evening.

At around 11pm the snow began to fall heavily and it soon became apparent how bad the situation was when people felt the need to call for a taxi to find that no taxis were travelling to and from the venue! Shottle Hall is well known for going above and beyond when it comes to looking after their couples. I’m not sure they have found themselves in this situation before, but a few guests were left with no option but to stop at the wedding venue on the sofa! A night I am sure Grace, Richard and their family and friends will be talking about for years to come!

After travelling for over an hour Jack finally made his way home safe and sound! Thank you Grace and Richard sending us a message the following day to check Jack had made it home safely and to give us feedback from your big day …

“Thank you so so much for the being absolutely brilliant you had people dancing all night thank you for making our special day perfect xxx”

On behalf of the Jackstar weddings team, I would like to wish Richard and Grace the very best for a long and happy future together.
