7 Ways to Create a Travel Theme in Your Wedding
Travel can be a huge passion for many couples and a big part of their personalities, so it can be a great idea to incorporate travel into their wedding day theme. It can be difficult to know where to start with a theme so I have put together below 7 ways you can express your passion for travel into your wedding theme:
Have a Globe as a Guestbook
Arrange to have a blank globe on your gifts table with pens available for your guests to sign in place of your guestbook, it can make a lovely feature in your home and will be a great nod to your love of travelling the world. Tip – Make sure you have a sign saying what it is for, to encourage people to start signing it as it may not be obvious!

Use a Boarding pass or Passport Design for save the date’s or invitations
This is a great way to start off your theme from as soon as guests receive their first invitations, there are so many options out there for this. You could use an already existing design from online or speak to your stationer about creating a personalised unique design.

Vintage luggage tags are great for place names or menu cards
This small touch will tie your theme and decorations perfectly together and will really add to the detail of the theme, you can have fun with the design of these or to make things easy you can look into using a premade design online.
Send Postcards from your favourite location or honeymoon as thank you cards
Your guests will love this final touch, it is something so personal that will stand out to your guests and will be a refreshing change from the traditional thank you cards. They will round off your wedding perfectly.

Name the tables after your favourite cities or countries
If you have your table names on an A5 sized card you will have space on the back to have an explanation of what this location means to you, which will make it even more personal and create a conversation starter for your guests. For example when you travelled there, how often you have been, why you love it there etc.

Have a Signature Drink inspired by your favourite travels
Speak with your bar manager about creating your very own signature cocktails with inspiration from popular ingredients and flavours from your favourite countries. Alternatively, if you don’t fancy creating your own, go with a classic from your favourite destinations, for example, an Old Jamaican or Rum Punch for Jamaica.

Have Traditional foods from your favourite countries
Be adventurous with your wedding breakfast and evening buffet, why not go with a banquet of different foods from your favourite travels instead of the traditional simple finger buffet? Speak with your catering manager about your favourite flavours and dishes from around the world and put together a bespoke menu bursting with ingredients that will instantly bring back memories and showcase your love for adventure.
