Inspiration For Your Bride & Father and Groom & Mother Dances

Are you looking for a time in your busy wedding timeline to have a special moment with just your father or mother? A lovely way to have this is to arrange a Bride and Father or Groom and Mother dance, it is a few minutes of the day dedicated solely to your parents. Your wedding will be a very emotional day alongside many other emotions, especially for your parents. Giving them this special dance will mean a lot to them and be something to remember, not only with the memories but your photographer will also be able to get some beautiful images to treasure forever.

There is no set time that you should do your parent dances, it is popular to do them before the first dance for your parents to then hand you to one another for your first dance, alternatively, you could arrange this for after your evening food. This works well to gather your guests back around the Dance Floor after dispersing for the food, I would advise if you go for the second option to end with an upbeat song to get yourselves and your guests back in the party mood and back on the Dance Floor.

I would definitely recommend discussing this with your parents beforehand, mainly to confirm they would be happy with this instead of them finding out on the wedding evening not being prepared and feeling uncomfortable. If you want to keep an element of surprise for your dance, arrange the song choice as a surprise for your parents. For instance, there may be a song that you know means a lot to them so they would love the surprise of you secretly choosing it to be a significant part of your wedding. If you are looking for something a bit different you should think about merging two songs together, whether it be two of your favourite slow songs or even start with a slow song that goes into an upbeat party song to get the party started.
