Tips for the morning of your wedding

by Monday 1st February 2021blog

The morning of your wedding is a weird but wonderful time, you will go through a mix of emotions from excitement to nervousness and it will be a few hours that you will never forget. As you get to spend quality time with your bridal party/groomsmen whilst getting ready for the most important day of your life, make the most of this time and enjoy it.

To help you make the best of the morning of your wedding I have put together some tips below:

Have your Hair and Make-up finished 1 hour before the wedding

This will give you plenty of time to get your dress on without a last-minute panic, you can then take your time and get excited instead of worrying and having to clock watch. Speak with your hairstylist and makeup artist about timings and plan to leave yourself an hour before the ceremony.

Bonus Tip: Make sure your bridesmaids and mother of the bride are ready before you so they are available to help you get ready and sort out anything last-minute.

Have your dress/suit hanging on a nice wooden hanger

This way it will look nicer for photos, after all, it is the most important suit/ dress you will ever buy, it deserves a nice hanger. You don’t want to look back on the photos and see your beautiful dress hanging on a cheap plastic hanger.

Bonus Tip: Have all of the dresses/suits steamed the day before the wedding and then arrange for there to be a rail to hang them to avoid any creases, this will also provide a lovely photo opportunity for your photographer to capture.

Have breakfast and not too many glasses of fizz

You will have heard the most important meal of the day is breakfast, well your wedding day is no exception. You will have a busy day ahead and, likely, you will not eat a lot during the day with being preoccupied with all the celebrations and socialising, so make sure you have a substantial breakfast to fuel you for your special day. It is lovely to toast to your big day with a glass of bubbly or two or maybe even just to help calm your nerves but try to restrain from overdoing it with the alcohol before the ceremony!

Take it all in and enjoy

The final hours before your ceremony is such a special time that you get to enjoy with your bridal party/groomsmen that you want to make the most of it, ride the wave of mixed emotions and get excited for the big day with your closest family and friends.
