Weekday weddings are on the rise. Are you stepping away from tradition and planning a weekday wedding? At Jackstar we have noticed the number of weekday weddings has gone up each year since our launch in 2010. This year alone we have had three weekday weddings and we haven’t even made it into ‘peak’ wedding season!
Recent data released by hitched.co.uk shows that weekday weddings have risen by almost a third in the last seven years. Further to this, research shows that as Thursday weddings have become ever increasing in popularity Friday weddings have decreased.
With weddings costing, on average, £24,000 it is no surprise that couples are looking at midweek dates to get better deals.
The editor of hitched.co.uk, Caroline Hendry believes that Thursday weddings will continue to increase in popularity whilst venues offer discounted rates. Whilst Fridays are currently the same price as Saturday weddings, it is no surprise that they are on the decrease.
Not only do weekday weddings have a financial gain, couples are also more likely to be able to select their first option wedding venue. Top venues are booked up years in advance, especially on Saturdays during peak season. By skipping the tradition of a Saturday wedding, more couples are able to afford their first choice venue, and likewise more venues are able to accommodate a weekday wedding.
Here at Jackstar it doesn’t matter what day of the week you are getting married – Our prices are fixed all year round. For services such as ours the benefit of a weekday wedding is we are more likely to be available! Like venues, our services get booked years in advance! As I sit here and write this, during August 2016, I know that there are already a number of dates in July 2017 where we are unable to take any further bookings! By moving away from tradition you are more likely to be able to have exactly what you want, without compromise.
This week alone we have already had two-weekday weddings…and we are only on Tuesday! Yesterday I was at Goosedale in Nottinghamshire with our white matt photobooth, and today Jack has been over to Stubton Hall to deliver and set-up our giant LOVE letters!
